AFCON 2025 Top Scorers: Who Is Leading the Golden Boot Race?

As the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations moves into the quarterfinals phase, the race for the Golden Boot is beginning to take shape.

With Nigeria having a feast and Amad Diallo scoring again in Ivory Coast’s win over Burkina Faso, the race to find the best scorer in the tournament is becoming tighter each match day.

Leading the scoring charts is Morocco’s Brahim Díaz with four goals bagged in four matches. His strike against Tanzania in the Round of 16 not only sent the hosts into the quarter-finals but also pushed him clear at the summit of the goal scorers’ table, underlining his importance to Morocco’s title ambitions.

But he can’t rest on his laurels as there are a chunk of players on three goals. This lot includes Mali’s Lassine Sinayoko, who has struck three goals in four matches. Diaz’s teammate Ayoub El Kaabi is also on three goals so is Riyad Mahrez (Algeria), Amad Diallo (Ivory Coast, Ademola Lookman (Nigeria), Victor Osimhen (Nigeria) and Mohammed Salah (Egypt).

There is another huge lot on two goals and as this competition has proved before, the Golden Boot winner often emerges from teams that go deep into the competition.
