AFC Leopards looking to bounce back against Nairobi United

The Sportpesa League continues on Wednesday 7 January 2026 with Nairobi United hosting AFC Leopards at Nyayo Stadium from 3pm EAT.

Leopards will be arriving in the clash ready to bounce back after going down in their last clash against Kakamega Homeboyz with United keen to build on their win away to Shabana over the weekend.

The clash marks the first-ever top-flight meeting between the two sides but United will be confident coming into the tie having been unbeaten in their last three games. They however must be wary of a Leopard who are keen to reclaim top spot if they can conjure a win in this tie.

United will be buoyed by the availability of new signings John Njuguna, Roy Okal, and Mustapha Kiiza who could make their competitive debuts for the club following their successful mid-season transfers.

Form

United have won their last two games (against Shabana and Tusker FC) but are said to be in turmoil. There have been reports that the club’s head coach Nicholas Muyoti is on his way out of the club due to interference’ from his bosses.

For Leopards, despite falling to Homeboyz in their last game, they remain one of the most in-form teams in the league. In their last five games, they’ve won three (against Bidco, Ulinzi Stars and Gor Mahia) and drew one (against Kenya Police FC).

A win for Leopards will see them reclaim their top spot as they are just two points below leaders Gor Mahia with United’s win set to propel them to sixth place on 22 points.
